JosephDavid Lawyers have extensive experience in low-level (also known as ‘summary offences’) criminal charges, from theft to assaults, to traffic matters from drink-driving to dangerous driving offences.
Contest or Plead
We review the charges and consider whether there is insufficient evidence to contest the same, or, whether it would be prudent to enter a plea of guilt at the earliest possible stage to mitigate the sentence outcomes.
If you want to contest the matters, we engage highly regarded Barristers to represent your interests at Court, so that you won’t have to say a word – your Barrister will guide you through each Court proceeding, from start to finish.
If we determine that a plea is the best course of action (with your agreement), we then assist in reviewing the preparation of three character references for the Court date and brief a highly experienced and well-regarded expert criminal law Barrister to appear on your behalf at the Court date.
Traffic or Drink Driving Charges
Whether you are charged with Drink Driving Offences, Drug Driving, Traffic Offences, Motor Vehicle offences or Registration or Licence-related offences, we are more than capable of ensuring that you have outstanding legal advice and representation at your Court Hearing.
Whilst the mandatory suspensions or disqualifications cannot be avoided, we work towards minimising any criminal convictions against your record and minimising the extent and duration of any loss of licence beyond the statutory minimums.
We ensure that the stressful ordeal of facing criminal charges and having to appear at Court is made as straightforward as possible. The Barristers who we work with on your behalf are routinely engaged in complicated County Court or Supreme Court trials and high-level criminal matters, as well as low-level Magistrates’ Court summary offences. You can rest assured that your matter is in safe and very capable hands.
We have represented hundreds of clients and have achieved outstanding outcomes in their criminal and/or traffic offence matters. Often, we manage to avoid formal criminal convictions for first/low-level offences and secure a reduced fine as a sentence outcome.
